We've run some tests on a Sony 75-inch ZD9 (also marketed in the USA as the Bravia Z9D) full-array local dimming (FALD) LED LCD, and discovered the highest number of independently dimmable zones on an LCD-based television to date.

The specific unit we tested was the Sony KD-75ZD9. Many thanks to Mr Stephen George for letting us run these tests.
