We demonstrate that LFC (low frame rate compensation) works even over HDMI Forum VRR on an Xbox One X console, using the secret infobar on an LG CX OLED TV with [Freesync Premium] disabled.

Once again, LFC is 100% GPU-drive, and not exclusive to AMD Freesync. Here is a video from 5 years ago demonstrating that Nvidia G-SYNC already has its own low frame rate compensation technology built-in, even though it's not advertised as such:
