We review the TCL 8-Series which is the company's flagship TV for 2019. It features Mini LED backlight technology with more than 25000 mini LEDs, 900 local dimming zones, 4K resolution of 3840x2160 pixels, quantum dot QLED technology, HDMI 2.0b ports whose only HDMI 2.1 feature is ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision support, as well as Roku TV platform.

Topics covered include blacks and contrast, colour, motion, video processing, screen uniformity, HDR, gaming, bright-room performance, sound quality, as well as comparison with an LG OLED (65in C9) and Samsung QLED.

Our Q825 review sample was the 75-inch version, model number TCL 75Q825. It is also available in a smaller 65in size, with 15000 LEDs and 768 zones.
