The Sony X850F is a 4k IPS TV which is great for those with wide seating. In this review, we compare it to 4 other popular models.

The X850F has a low native contrast ratio, so blacks appear gray in a dark room. This isn’t noticeable when viewed in a brighter room though, and the image also remains accurate when viewed at an angle. It is a great choice for TV shows or sports in a wide room, or for use as a PC monitor.
Model tested: 65” (XBR-65X850F)
Should also be valid for the 75" (XBR-75X850F)
Note that the 85" model (XBR-85X850F) has a VA type panel, and performs differently to the other sizes. We expect it to have a higher native contrast ratio resulting in deeper blacks when viewed in a dark room, but the image degrades when viewed at an angle.
